Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed
every year on 26 July as a saga of gallantry and courage of battle fought on
the most inhospitable landscape in the world in the Kargil-Drass Region of
Ladakh. On this day, the Indian Armed Forces braved the most difficult terrain,
struggling with extreme weather conditions, bravely fought on the steep slopes
of the icy peaks with grit and bravery, thereby overcoming the enemy's evil
designs. The Kargil War or as referred-Operation Vijay was fought at an
altitude of nearly 16,000 feet, with 1,042 Pakistani soldiers killed and 527
